Zones will also be placed at appropriate intervals to provide areas for deliveries, postal vehicles, and other active uses.
West of Main Street, areas currently limited to 3-hour parking will change to 4-hour parking, matching nearby public lot time limits. Lot # 11, which is just east of the Desch building, will transition from business permit parking, to a regular paid parking lot available to all users.
Going forward, other changes such as a consolidation and simpli ication of the current pay zones, as well as new signage, will be implemented throughout the spring.
Also in April, parking enforcement will get a refresh with new handheld devices for Community Service Officers and the ability for parking citations to be paid online via the Passport system. Paper tickets placed on vehicle windshields will look slightly different as a result.
Free Tuesdays The City Council recently approved a proposal to make all downtown parking free on Tuesdays, beginning on April 7.
This will align with the existing Summer Tuesdays event and make it easier for local residents to access Main Street business and the riverfront on a regular basis.
