For much of my life, I have received two messagess at the same time.
The standard kept moving. When I adapted, the criticism changed.
I was too much:
 Too intense
 Too direct
 Too ambitious
 Too sensitivee

Too opinionated Too willing to ask questions Too unwilling to quietly accept things thatt did not make sense
And somehow, I was also not enough: |
Not polished enough |
Not easy enough to manage |
Not agreeable enough |
Not the right kind of leader |
Not strategic enough |
That contradiction became the title |
Not connected enough |
of the book. |
The standard kept moving. When I adapted, the criticism changed. At first, I thought this contradiction was mostly about me.
