He also believes competing in the 3A-3 conference gives his team an advantage when the postseason arrives.“ I love playing in the 3A-3 because it prepares us well for the playoffs,” he said.“ The speed and athleticism we see week in and week out prepares us well for the playoff-caliber teams we see.”
One of the most unique parts of his football experience has been the opportunity to play for his father.“ Being able to play for my dad is amazing,” he said.“ He does a great job of keeping football at football and home at home.” He also appreciates the way his father coaches him while still treating him like every other player.“ He knows how to coach all his players the right way, and he knows that he can push me so that the others can see and follow along.”
Now, the next chapter of his athletic career is already taking shape. The recruitment process was an exciting experience, although there were moments of stress and uncertainty. Ultimately, he chose Georgia Southern because of both its football program and its strong Christian foundation.“ Jesus is number one in my life, and when I went on my official visit it seemed that Jesus was number one in all their lives too,” he said.“ All the coaches made me feel very welcome, and they made Statesboro feel like home.”
Playing college football has been a lifelong dream.“ My dream has always been to play college football. I have worked my whole life to accomplish this goal, and it is a dream come true,” he said. Getting the opportunity to compete at the FBS level makes the accomplishment even more meaningful.“ Being able to play college football at the FBS level is special, and playing in the Sun Belt is going to be a great experience.”
While football has been a major part of his journey, his faith remains at the center of his life.“ Christianity is one of the most important parts of my life because I know everything I have and everything I’ m able to do comes from God, and my faith guides my decisions,” he said. That faith has also helped him navigate the uncertainty that comes with recruiting and making major decisions about his future.“ In sports, my faith has helped me trust God through recruiting and difficult decisions, knowing that He will provide the right opportunity for me,” he said.
As he prepares to close out his high school athletic career and begin his college journey, he wants to continue putting his faith first.“ Moving forward, I want to keep God at the center of my life, represent Him through the way I play and treat others, and trust His plan for my future both in and beyond football.”
For a student-athlete who has spent most of his life balancing three sports, the classroom and his faith, the final season isn ' t simply about one more year of competition. It is the culmination of a lifetime of work— and the beginning of a dream coming true.
