Head Coach Kelley Lewis enters her first season leading the Marmaduke Greyhounds and is looking forward to building a fresh start for the program. With a focus on developing players and establishing a strong foundation, the Greyhounds will look to grow throughout the season and continue moving the program forward. Among the returning players are Savannah Vandergriff, who brings versatility and experience with the ability to play both the middle infield and outfield. April Michael also returns to provide depth in the outfield, while Abby Brady will anchor the infield at first base and contribute offensively in the lineup. The Greyhounds will not return any pitchers from last season, which means developing pitching depth will be an important area of focus early in the year. As the team works to establish roles and build consistency, gaining experience in the circle will be key. With a mix of returning players and a renewed sense of direction under Coach Lewis, Marmaduke is excited about the opportunity to reset the program and build momentum for the future. Establishing team culture, improving fundamentals, and growing confidence will be central to the Greyhounds’ success as the season progresses.
The Marmaduke Greyhounds enter the 2026 season looking to rebound after a difficult 0 – 10 campaign that concluded on May 3. Head coach Charlie Stormes returns a group that has gained valuable experience over the past few seasons, and that familiarity with the varsity level could help the Greyhounds take meaningful steps forward this spring. With several upperclassmen back in key roles and a number of newcomers eager to contribute, Marmaduke will focus on building consistency and competitiveness throughout the season. Offensively, the Greyhounds will rely on several returning starters who are expected to anchor the lineup. Kelbe Dowler is projected to lead off and will handle catching duties, giving Marmaduke both leadership behind the plate and a steady presence at the top of the order. Casen Hendrix is expected to hit second while playing second base, providing contact hitting and defensive reliability in the middle infield. Jayden Christian will bat third and start at first base, where his ability to drive in runs should play an important role in the team’ s offensive production. Colton McDougle rounds out the heart of the lineup as the cleanup hitter while starting at third base, giving the Greyhounds additional power potential. On the mound, Dowler, Hendrix, and McDougle all saw time pitching last season and are expected to handle much of the workload again this year. However, Marmaduke lost much of its pitching from last season, making the development of consistent arms a key priority early in the schedule. Most of the roster returns from last year’ s team, giving Marmaduke a strong core of experienced seniors and juniors. Several newcomers are also expected to compete for playing time and provide additional depth as the season progresses. While defensive experience should be a strength, finding steady pitching will likely be the biggest challenge as the Greyhounds work toward improvement this season.
