The Tuckerman Bulldogs finished last season 9-12 falling in the first round of the regional tournament. This season, Coach Michael Holland is looking for growth among several returning starters to improve that record and get back to the postseason.“ We have several guys that will see time on the mound,” Coach Holland said.“ One of these pitchers will need to step up and be the man. Several of the juniors that will play this season started as freshmen. I hope we can put it all together with hitting, pitching and defense to have a great season.” Senior Kade Keton returns for the Bulldogs. Keton does a little bit of everything on the diamond. He catches, pitches, and plays in the infield. Classmate Luke Cross will be in the pitching rotation as well. Junior Caden Templeton will be relied on heavily to eat up some innings on the mound and play the infield, while fellow junior Bronx Holland can play the infield, outfield, and provide depth to the pitching rotation. Classmate Bryce Herring can play anywhere and pitch as well, and junior Zeke Church will be at first base. Sophomore Cameron Ford can help behind the plate, on the mound, and wherever Coach Holland needs him to play. The Bulldogs will be without leadoff hitter and second baseman Jordan Watson who will miss the season due to injury. Junior Dawson Worthington will return after missing the 2025 season due to a knee injury. Worthington will pitch, catch, and play a corner infield position. His bat will add a much needed punch to the lineup. Sophomore Easton McGuire will add pitching and multiple position depth along with hitting and speed, while freshman Ryan Adams should provide more catching options and some pop in the lineup. With so much experience returning, the Tuckerman Bulldogs should compete in the 2A-2 for a title, regional berth, and have the opportunity to take the next step into the state tournament.
The Tuckerman Lady Bulldogs finished last season 30-6, falling in the semifinals of the 2A State Tournament to end the year. Coach Chad Soden has the vast majority of the lineup returning and is looking to take one more step this season into the state finals and compete for another title. The Lady Bulldogs have a strong one-two punch in the pitcher’ s circle. Junior Maegan Richardson pitched 99.2 innings last season going 15-3 with 119 strikeouts and a 2.03 ERA. Offensively, Richardson hit. 429 with two home runs and 36 RBI. Sophomore Emma Davis threw 89.1 innings also going 15-3 with 107 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.72. The Lady Bulldogs have a lot of pop up and down the lineup with eight hitters eclipsing the. 300 mark last season. Third baseman Bristen Wheeler led Tuckerman with a. 496 average at the plate. Wheeler hit 14 home runs with 67 RBI. Shortstop Maddyx Soden was right behind her with a. 463 average. Soden drew 31 walks and hit two home runs and 27 RBI. Zaylie Poe hit. 385 while patrolling the outfield with Josie Branch(. 361) and Emily Barnett(. 344). Second baseman Ally Sampson hit. 379 and catcher McKenzie Hutchison hit. 353 while handling the Bulldog pitching staff behind the plate. Sophomore Emma Davis should find a spot in the starting lineup, while senior Emeri Baughn could add more depth as well. With so much talent up and down the lineup, Coach Soden says his team will have to focus on what’ s ahead.“ We have to try to be better than last year individually to make our team better,” he explained.“ If everyone will focus on the team outcome, we could be a state contender this season. We have to keep outside distractions outside.” The Tuckerman Lady Bulldogs should be the favorite in the 2A-2 conference and region. They will be on a short list of teams to finish the season with a dogpile.
