The Rhode Island SPCA protects and cares for animals. We do this through our Humane Law Enforcement Department, as well as our shelter programs including adoption, veterinary care, humane education, and pet owner assistance programs.
background Founded in 1870, the RISPCA is the oldest animal welfare organization in the state and the 3rd oldest in the country. As an independent non-profit, we are not affiliated with the ASPCA or any other animal welfare organization.
Brag lines In 2023, 1,044 animals were adopted. Our humane education team reached 2708 students in RI schools and hosted an additional 250 students here at our new facility in Warwick. Our veterinary clinic performed 1,356 spay / neuter surgeries.
Pay it forward We rely on donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations to provide critical programs and services for the animals and people in the community. If you support our mission, please consider donating at rispca. org.
In this issue, we celebrate those who work toward the Common Good.
Please take the time to review the profiles of the nonprofit organizations highlighted in this section, their missions, fundraising initiatives and consider how you might assist them in their endeavors.
Pass it on. Thank you.
