The Evict Radon National Study team is leading a new “Toenail Study” to develop better ways of measuring long-term radon exposure. By analyzing radon decay products found in toenail clippings, researchers can gain valuable insight into how much radon a person has absorbed over time—information that could support better exposure assessment and future lung cancer screening. The study is now recruiting 10,000 Canadians to test their homes for radon and submit toenail samples.
