Monarch MVP Cookout

The Housing & Residence Life team closed out the semester with the Monarch MVP Cookout, a fun and meaningful celebration recognizing the dedication, collaboration, and impact of professional staff across Residence Life, Business Operations, and Administrative Services.
The event brought teams together through cookoutthemed challenges, recognition awards, and moments of reflection that highlighted the strong sense of community within Housing. Staff members participated in activities focused on teamwork, creativity, communication, and connection while celebrating the accomplishments and behind-the-scenes efforts that helped support residents throughout the semester. From laughter and friendly competition to heartfelt recognition moments, the event served as a reminder that the strength of Housing comes from the people who help make our communities feel like home.
The Heart and Soul Award:
Recipient: Carolina Ospina-Rodriguez
Carolina’ s positive attitude, warm smile, and outgoing personality makes everyone around her feel supported and connected to our community. She is truly the heart and soul of HRL.
The Mentor Moment Award:
Recipient: Shannon Freeman
Shannon is always happy to make sure we have the information we need. She is dependable, knowledgeable, and somehow prepared with a response to any question you throw at her. She is someone who makes you feel confident in the knowledge you just received as if you’ ve been equipped with it all along!
The Behind the Scenes Star Award:
Recipient: Terence Durkin
Terence Durkin is the embodiment of a Behind the Scenes Hero, consistently ensuring that the work of the Housing community runs smoothly through his quiet dedication and excellence. While much of his impact may not always be visible, it is deeply felt in the success and functionality of the communities he supports.
