GDC LEADERSHIP ADVOCATES FOR SOLUTIONS AGAINST CONTRABAND CELL PHONES AND DRONES AT CAPITOL HILL GDC Leadership had productive conversations in Washington, D. C., at Correctional Leaders Association on the Hill, where correctional leaders from across the country met with lawmakers, the FCC, and the FAA to discuss solutions to combat the dangers of contraband cell phones and drones in correctional facilities. Commissioner Oliver met with members of Georgia’ s legislative delegation to advocate for tools and policies that enhance safety and security both inside our facilities and in our communities. We were also honored to be a part of a special presentation, recognizing Matthew Whitehead – Director for Counterterrorism National Security Council- with the CLA Public Safety Leadership Award. Director Whitehead is a supporter and strong advocate for ensuring these important topics stay on the forefront of national discussion surrounding public safety
