MODCORR RIBBON CUTTING- JOHNSON STATE PRISON GDC celebrated a significant milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Johnson State Prison. This event marked the implementation of ModCorr MaxMod modular units across four facilities, along with the opening of a new Medical Intensive Infirmary( MII) modular unit at Johnson State Prison. The facilities now equipped with these modular units include Dodge State Prison, Lee State Prison, Montgomery State Prison, and Hays State Prison. The new 20-bed Medical Intensive Infirmary unit at Johnson State Prison will be supported by GDC’ s correctional healthcare partner, Centurion.
These additions provide 524 beds, strengthen our ability to deliver specialized medical care, and help support ongoing facility maintenance and infrastructure improvements.
STATEWIDE FAMILY DAY Statewide Family Day was hosted at GDC HQ, where we welcomed friends and loved ones of offenders as they had the opportunity to meet directly with Wardens, Inmate Services, Parole representatives, and other key staff. These conversations provided a chance to share concerns, ask questions, and gain insight into resources to help in navigating their loved one’ s incarceration journey.
Family Day is an important part of our commitment to strengthening communication and support for families as an important part of the reentry process.
