The Hardwood Creek Library in Washington County and Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library in Chisago County offer not only a robust catalog of inventory to check out, but frequent community events.
Hardwood Creek Library( 19955 Forest Rd. N) offers free library services to residents of the county and any individual who has a membership with another public library in the region.

Individuals who do not reside in Washington County can call or visit the branch with their library card number to access the wide array of books, movies or CDs that can be rented from its inventory. A catalog of inventory can be found online at washcolib. org / 445 / Hardwood-Creek-Library.
The Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library( 26855 Forest Blvd.) is part of the East Central Regional Library system and offers library cards for free to Chisago County residents, excluding Taylors Falls, and anyone who participates at a regional library. To apply for a card area residents can register online or in person. A catalog of written, audio and visual content can be found online at ecrlib. org / at-your-library /.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Both libraries have carved out spots in their communities as gathering places for not only tried-and-true library users, but for families, teens and young adults.
The Hardwood Creek Library hosts many family, teen, adult or senior events each month. There are teen and family art carts where craft materials are available for free use and weekly toddler story time sessions.
Once a month a Dungeons and Dragons teen group meets as well as a monthly knitting group and book club. There are technology assistance sessions available for seniors to get tech assistance a few times a month, too. All community events and information can be found online at washcolib. org / events.
The Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library offers a breadth of activities including art displays, board games, activity kits, and various groups to connect with. There are preschool storytimes at 10:30 a. m. on Wednesdays for young learners to engage in stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts.
