Two lots open for parking at the fair
Two lots are open for vehicle parking at the Dakota County Fair, which runs Aug. 10-16 in Farmington.
The cost is $ 10 per vehicle, $ 20 per bus and $ 5 per motorcycle.
Only cash is accepted, so fairgoers are reminded to bring some currency if they are planning to park on site.
For the South Lot, vehicles can enter through Second Street off Highway 3.
For the North Lot, vehicles can enter through Third Street on 200th Street.
Both lots offer general and handicap parking.
The entrance utilized by motorcycles and bicycles( which are free to park, but riders should bring a way to secure their bike) is located at Second Street to the west of the North Lot entrance off 220th Street.
Fairgoers will note that Second Street runs in an“ L” from the north end of the fair to the southeast.
A weeklong parking pass is $ 40 and can be purchased at the Fair Office inside Ahlberg Hall.
Free parking lot courtesy carts will run throughout the week.
Fairgoers who park can flag one down for a lift to and from anywhere on the fairgrounds.

The Dakota County Fair offers three ways to save on carnival ride tickets.
Fair offers carnival ride Passport to Fun
The Dakota County Fair offers three different advance sale options for carnival ride tickets that can save fairgoers some money.
Advance sales run now through 12 p. m. Monday, Aug. 10 at the Fair Office in Ahlberg Hall. There are no online sales. Passport To Fun, which offers unlimited rides for the entire fair, costs $ 80 in advance and $ 90 during the fair. Passports can only be purchased at the Fair Office.
Wristbands will be sold in advance at the Fair Office for $ 25 and for $ 30 after the fair starts in the Carnival Ticket Booth.
Wristbands are good for one of the following days and times.
- Tuesday, Aug. 11- 2-6 p. m.
Thursday, Aug. 13- 11 a. m.- 3 p. m. Friday, Aug. 14- 12 noon to 4 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 16- 12 noon to 4 p. m.
Carnival Ride Sheets will be sold as a pre-sale item only at the Fair Office for $ 20. The sheets include six tickets, with each ticket good for one ride.
Advance sale ticket office hours at the Fair Office are 9 a. m. to 4 p. m.( Monday through Friday).
The ticket office will also be open Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9, from 10 a. m. – 3 p. m..
Hours are subject to change. 2026 carnival hours are: Monday: 2-10 p. m. Tuesday and Wednesday:
12 noon- 10 p. m. Thursday through Saturday: 10 a. m.- 11:30 p. m. Sunday: 10 a. m. to 5 p. m.
