Based on this multi-criteria process, four areas were elevated as Significant Health Needs requiring primary investment and intervention, and five areas were identified as Areas of Concern warranting monitoring and targeted response. This distinction reflects both the severity of evidence and the strategic capacity of Renown Health, Northern Nevada Public Health, and community partners
The final prioritized list of community health needs, as presented during the 2026 Community Health Assessment public meeting co-hosted by Renown Health and Northern Nevada Public Health, is as follows:( 1) Mental Health;( 2) Access to Health Services;( 3) Economic Stability;( 4) Health Risk Behaviors and Early Detection;( 5) Maternal and Child Health;( 6) Substance Use;( 7) Violence Prevention and Crime and( 8) Environmental Sustainability. This ordering reflects the combined weight of primary and secondary data, with community voice, particularly focus group findings, given greater weight in the final ranking methodology.
Prioritization Limitations
Although the prioritization and ranking process provides a consistent framework for identifying community health needs, the results are influenced by the methodology, data sources, and community input available at the time of the assessment. Variations in topic grouping, survey design and distribution, stakeholder participation, and the selection of secondary data indicators could impact individual scores and rankings. However, these variations are not expected to significantly alter the overall identification of the community’ s most pressing health needs.
