Windsor Rec Center
WINDSOR, CO
The desire to play doesn’ t go away with age; it just transforms. As children grow into adults, exercise often becomes their preferred way to unwind and have fun. Windsor Recreation Center embraces this, creating a park that excites adults just as a playground once exhilarated them as children.
As adults approach the space, they’ re immediately drawn to the THRIVE unit at the center, marked by its tall, blue shade canopies. Each component of this compact fitness station encourages movement in different ways.
To the left is the Challenge Course Pro, an obstacle course designed to spark friendly competition between older children and adults. Its dynamic layout brings out everyone’ s inner child, leaping from obstacle to obstacle in pursuit of a new personal best.
On the right, we included GTfit exercise stations designed with older adults in mind. Many of these pieces, such as the Shoulder Rotator, feature accessible designs that help users of all abilities improve flexibility and mobility.
