Page 64 Area Community Guide • March 2026 SENIOR CENTER OFFERS DIVERSE SERVICES

The Chisago County Senior Center and Services opened in 1982 to enrich the lives of Chisago County senior citizens and to support their individual lifestyles.
Unlike many senior facilities, the local center has an on-location kitchen that enables it to cook the more than 200 meals needed for the senior-dining program. Nutritional meals are served Monday through Friday.
The center offers many different programs during the previous years including congregate dining, 500 cards, cribbage and bingo games. People 55 and over could take classes that were not only educational( defensive driving, legal aid and tax assistance) but also fun things such as painting, exercise classes and monthly pot luck lunches.
The center typically holds many other events throughout the year to raise money for operations. In 2001, the Uptown Maple Commons senior-housing complex opened above the senior center. It includes 28 one-bedroom housing units and four with two bedrooms.
The Chisago County Board on Aging operates the center with funding obtained from grants, donations and community fundraisers. It is staffed entirely by volunteers.
Unlike many senior facilities, the local center has an on-site commercial kitchen. Through their partnership with Catholic Charities, more than 3,00 meals per month are prepared for senior dining programs. Nutritional meals are served Monday through Friday at the senior center. Check our website for the monthly menu. Call 651-674-1956 before 8:00 to reserve a meal.
