COMPUTER SCIENCE
Degree: Bachelor of Science Concentrations: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning; Cybersecurity and Computer Forensics; Web Design and Multimedia Program Modality: On-ground Academic Program Director: Cindy Casey
Program Description: The Computer Science( CS) program offers a comprehensive education that blends the core principles of computer science with hands-on experience in the most relevant and rapidly evolving technologies. Students will gain a solid foundation in problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical skills, while exploring practical applications across a wide range of specialized areas. Depending on their chosen concentration, students will learn multiple programming languages, networking, cybersecurity, digital forensics, artificial intelligence( AI), machine learning( ML), data mining, database development, web design, mobile applications, and more.
The CS program incorporates cutting-edge technologies and innovative tools, including robotics and 3D Printing, allowing students to engage in projects that bridge theory and real-world applications. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, enabling students to work with the latest software, hardware, and robotics platforms. Practical experience is reinforced through collaborative projects, research, and internships. Whether designing intelligent systems, securing networks, or building interactive web applications, students in the CS program are equipped with the skills needed to excel in today’ s techdriven world.
Program Student Learning Outcomes: PLO1 Understand the professional, ethical, security, and social impact computers and technology have on society. PLO2 Possess the ability to communicate technical subject matter in a variety of formats. PLO3 Demonstrate innovative approaches in addressing technical issues. PLO4 Demonstrate problem-solving abilities for analyzing a technical problem through finding and implementing a solution. PLO5 Strive to consciously develop and apply technologies without bias. PLO6 Break down complex problems into manageable components and implement effective solutions using appropriate computational methods.
