Respiratory Pathophysiology This course will build on the work of the Cardio-Respiratory Physiology( RC 233) course and provide a detailed account of selected cardio-respiratory diseases and conditions. The intent and purpose of the course is to specifically address the cardio-pulmonary diseases commonly encountered by the respiratory therapist on a daily basis. Specific attention will be paid to those disease states that are most likely to be encountered on the National Board for Respiratory Care’ s( NBRC) credentialing exam. Course format will follow specific disease etiology, clinical manifestations, pathology, diagnostic testing, prognosis, prevention and treatment( commensurate with current AARC Clinical Practice guidelines) and patient education, with emphasis on care plans and respiratory care protocols. 4.00
