The student will not be able to report back to class until they are officially registered. Application for Graduation
All students must submit an application for graduation using Colleague Self-Service. Deadlines for application are published in the academic calendar. Submission of an application does not guarantee graduation. Late submission may postpone graduation and / or receipt of a diploma.
Non-Matriculated Students:
Non-matriculated students may take up to fifteen( 15) credits of undergraduate level coursework or six( 6) credits of graduate level coursework at Gwynedd Mercy University. After completing these credits, students must contact the admissions office for advice about matriculation into one of the degree programs offered at the University. Non-matriculated students are strictly prohibited from enrolling in courses involving field experiences, clinical rotations, student teaching, or practicums. These courses are reserved exclusively for students who have cleared the formal matriculation process, which includes background checks, health clearances, and prerequisite vetting required by our external clinical and educational partners, Teaching, Practicum, or Internship, except with permission of the College Dean. In the Graduate Nursing programs, nonmatriculated students may only take NUR 530, NUR 610, and NUR 510 or electives approved by the MSN Program Director.
Concurrent Pursuit of Two Bachelor’ s Degrees
A student who has been accepted into a bachelor’ s degree program and wishes to earn a bachelor’ s degree in a second area of study must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 after the completion of 30 credits. The permission to pursue this second degree will be granted by the Provost / Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean( s) and must be obtained in writing. Students will be required to complete a minimum of thirty( 30) credits beyond the minimum specified credits for the first degree in addition to the general education courses required by both degrees. General education courses completed in the primary bachelor’ s degree do not need to be repeated. The student must meet all minimum grade requirements of both degree programs. Upon meeting the degree requirements for both bachelor’ s degrees, two degrees will be awarded to the student.( Example: One major program with BA degree, the second major program with BS or BSN degree).
Single Degree for Two or More Major Programs
Students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, after the completion of 30 credits or permission of the Program Director, may elect to pursue a degree in a second major program, as long as it is the same type of degree as their primary major program. The permission to pursue such a degree must be granted by the Dean( s) and obtained in writing. The student is responsible for all major courses, specified by the Dean of the second major area of study.( Example: Two major programs, both earning a BA, BS, or BSN degree).
