Emerging Internet Technologies
This course serves two purposes:( 1) to learn about emerging Internet technologies and( 2) to master the skills necessary to use the Internet more effectively for research. Students will learn how to discern the quality of information on the Internet, identify scholarly from non-scholarly sources, utilize specialized directories, and optimize search engine queries. How to avoid plagiarism and understanding copyright laws will also be discussed. Students will research emerging Internet topics while taking advantage of the many online tools available to them. After completing a research paper on an assigned topic, students will create a presentation to highlight their work utilizing the latest techniques, resources, and software. By learning how to use available existing technologies, students enrolled in this class will be better prepared in their academic, personal, and professional
endeavors.

Programming I
This course is designed as a first programming course for CIS majors or anyone interested in programming.
Taught in one of the industry ' s leading programming language C ++ or Java, this course will cover the structured
and procedural programming aspects of the language, including top-down design, loops, conditional structures,
use of variables, scope, arithmetic operations, processing records, Boolean algebra, and reinforcement of basic
algorithmic design. This will give the student a good foundation for more advanced topics in programming.

Information Systems
This course is designed to provide students, future information system managers, with the skills necessary to understand and manage the technologies which have become an integral part of today ' s business landscape. Major topics include management in a digital world, development and acquiring information systems, improving business processes, business intelligence using data analytics, artificial intelligence and robotics, and enhancing the organization through social media. The impact of mobile computing, cloud computing, the Internet of Things( IoT), and outsourcing will be discussed. Students will learn how to apply a systems approach to problem solving
and the systems development life cycle( SDLC).

Web Design I
This class teaches students how to create a website from scratch using HTML and CSS. Topics include content
planning and visual aesthetics including design and layout of images and text, the end-user experience( UX), and
adaptive cross-device design. The basic elements of the latest versions of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets( CSS)
will be covered including site design and page formatting, graphic manipulation for web content, Search Engine
Optimization( SEO), as well as browser, mobile device, and server capabilities. Students will learn how the web
works and what happens when a webpage is viewed in a web browser across multiple types of devices. By the
end of the course students will be able to publish their own websites with code they have written themselves.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
This course introduces students to the field of artificial intelligence( AI) and data mining. By examining how datasets from mined information are harnessed for machine learning, students will gain a deeper understanding of how artificial intelligence can be utilized. AI is presently being used in everyday applications such as Gmail, Siri, and Netflix. From selfpowered automobiles and military drones, to marketing research and fraud monitoring, this course will examine the history, present day use, and future of artificial intelligence. Topics discussed include autonomous machines, privacy, ethics, data analytics, neural networks, singularity, and quantum computing.
Open to all majors.

Python is a general-purpose programming language popular with game developers, web designers and artificial intelligence engineers. Used by YouTube, Drop Box, and Google, Python is easy to read, learn, and use. This course will introduce the student to basic programming concepts though the use of fun examples and exercises
designed to help the student gain experience. This beginners course is open to all majors.
