Admission criteria for entry into the Master of Science in OT Program are based on one of two paths of entry. First, Gwynedd Mercy University students who completed degree requirements for the Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Science can complete their Master of Science degree requirements in Occupational Therapy as a graduate student( OCT MS Dual track). Second, qualified students who completed degree requirements with a baccalaureate degree can complete their Master of Science degree requirements in Occupational Therapy as a graduate student( OCT MS track).
Academic Criteria for Admission for the OCT MS Dual Track Students seeking to enter the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program as a graduate student in the OCT MS Dual track should have the following admission criteria:
• Earn a BHS degree in Occupational Science degree
• Maintain a final cumulative undergraduate GPA of ≥3.0.
• Attest to being able to meet the Technical Standards for Occupational Therapy Practice with or without reasonable accommodation.
Academic Criteria for Admission for the OCT MS Track Students seeking to enter the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program as a graduate student in the OCT MS track should have the following admission criteria:
• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of ≥ 3.00on a 4.0 scale.
• Successful completion of the following prerequisite courses with a minimum GPA of ≥ 3.10 ona 4.0 scale. All courses must have been completed within the past 10 years except for Anatomy and Physiology I & II, which must have been completed within the past 5 years. o Anatomy and Physiology I & II with lab— 8 credits o General Psychology— 3 credits o Abnormal Psychology / Psychopathology— 3 credits o Developmental Psychology— 3 credits o Sociology / Anthropology— 3 credits o Statistics— 3 credits
• Completed Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service( OTCAS) application or a graduate university application using Slate
• Complete minimum of 20 hours of volunteer or paid work experience under an Occupational Therapist Registered( OTR)
• Attest to the Technical Standards of Occupational Therapy Practice
• Complete an interview
• The GRE is not required
Applicants to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program are ranked and scored based off 276
