Academic Criteria for Admission, Progression and Retention
Transfer Credits Students may transfer up to 9 eligible graduate credits, subject to academic review and approval or the terms of an established Memorandum of Understanding( MOU).

Academic Standards / Grade Requirements: Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in graduate coursework to remain in good academic standing and qualify for graduation. Courses must be completed with a minimum grade established by the University’ s graduate academic policies. Students who fall below the required GPA may be subject to academic warning, probation, or dismissal in accordance with university policy.
Attendance Policies: Courses are delivered fully online with no required scheduled class meetings. Students are expected to actively and consistently engage in their courses throughout each 7-week session. Attendance is demonstrated through participation in course activities, completion of assignments, discussion activities, and other academic engagement as determined by the instructor. Specific participation and attendance expectations will be outlined in each course syllabus.
Academic Progress / Academic Probation: Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the program. Students who fail to meet the University’ s graduate academic standards may be placed on academic probation and will be required to demonstrate academic improvement to return to good standing. Continued failure to meet established academic standards may result in dismissal from the program in accordance with Gwynedd Mercy University policy.
Academic Dismissal: Students who fail to meet academic standards or the conditions of academic probation may be dismissed from the program in accordance with Gwynedd Mercy University policy.
Time to Completion: Approximately 1.5 years( 18 months). Time to completion may vary depending on the number of transfer credits accepted toward the degree.
