In a rematch of the 2024 Class 5A semifinal and a battle between the last two champions of Class 5A, it was the Chanhassen Storm, the 2023 state champions, that emerged victorious on Saturday, Nov. 15, at U. Elks senior quarterback Levi Harris opened the scoring with 4:17 remaining in the second quarter when he dashed 98 yards past the Storm defense to make it 6-0. The two-point conversion attempt was no good.
Junior running back Braedon Becker extended the Elks’ lead to 12-0 with 25 seconds remaining in the quarter on a 37-yard touchdown run.
The Storm got on the board when senior quarterback Nathan Ramler connected with senior wide receiver Loghan Gustad on a 22-yard touchdown pass as time expired in the second quarter, with the extra point by senior kicker Michael McDowell.
Sophomore running back Graham Delger gave Chanhassen the lead with 3:54 remaining in the third quarter on a two-point conversion pass from Ramler to Gustad. The Elks answered when Becker scored his second touchdown of the night on a 37-yard run with 1:30 to go in the quarter, with the extra point by senior kicker Aiden Christianson.
Chanhassen regained the lead when senior running back Kade Bush exploded for a 42-yard touchdown run 8 seconds into the fourth quarter.
