Improving Efficiency in Credentialing Operations

Streamlining credentialing is more than a procedural convenience; it reduces provider onboarding times and speeds up time-to-revenue. Faster, leaner workflows cut red tape, speed providers to the bedside, and safeguard patient safety while keeping regulators satisfied. The payoff is a lighter administrative load and better provider experience, which echoes throughout the entire healthcare ecosystem. In short, the more efficient the credentialing process, the sooner clinicians can start seeing patients.
Ratio of Credentialing Staff-to-Providers
We asked survey respondents to share their ratio of staff who perform credentialing / privileging functions to providers. Staff-to-provider ratios for credentialing and privileging are shaped by factors such as software automation, process optimization, and whether reappointments occur every two or three years.
What is the ratio of staff who perform credentialing / privileging functions to providers( i. e., there is one staff member for each 300 providers)? Your ratio should include all staff, including managers / directors who are involved in / responsible for credentialing / privileging.( n = 478)
