Provider Data Management and Service Expansion Impact
Diving deeper, the survey revealed key factors that contribute to the level of satisfaction in the credentialing and privileging process, namely provider data management and service expansion. Overall satisfaction was significantly correlated with how medical staff services leadership rated the importance of provider data management and service expansion.
Ninety-eight percent rated provider data management, which includes activities such as capturing, validating, analyzing, and managing data on providers, as extremely, very, or somewhat important. Further, 87 % of respondents rated service expansion, which includes adding new services, supporting new stakeholders, or assuming new responsibilities, as“ extremely”,“ very”, or“ somewhat important”.
Our theory is that provider data management and service expansion may influence a provider’ s overall satisfaction with the credentialing and privileging process, and that may explain why leadership views tham as important priorities.
