Elk River Access Improvements Project- Morrissey Boat Launch
Morrissey Boat Launch, one of the most important river access sites along the Elk River, reached 75 % completion in 2024 following three years of planning, fundraising, engineering, design, permitting, and approvals. In 2025, final completion of the project, located within Morrissey Provincial Park and now also recognized as an RDEK Area A Park, involved installation of the interpretive signage in spring, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 12th with funders and supporters in attendance. Future goals for the site include expanding parking capacity, installing a permanent washroom facility, and implementing additional site improvements. The location has ongoing maintenance program delivered in partnership with the AmbassadorWILD, RDEK, and BC Parks.
