Andrea A. Kühn is director of the Movement Disorder and Neuromodulation Unit at the Department of Neurology at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Berlin. She is spokesperson for the Collaborative Research Centre Transregio“ ReTune,” funded by the German Research Foundation, and deputy spokesperson for the Excellenzcluster NeuroCure at the Charité. Dr. Kühn’ s research focuses on the pathophysiology of movement disorders and the mechanisms of action of deep brain stimulation in movement disorders. She is author and co-author of more than 330 peerreviewed publications in the scope of movement disorders and clinical neurophysiology.
Tanya Simuni leads the Parkinson’ s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, a Parkinson’ s Foundation Center of Excellence that serves as a training model in the region. She is part of the Parkinson’ s Progression Markers Initiative leadership team and is an internationally recognized expert in the design and implementation of Parkinson’ s clinical trials focused on disease modification. Dr. Simuni has more than 150 publications and has lectured nationally and internationally on Parkinson’ s and other movement disorders. Dr. Simuni is highly committed to both the education of the next generation of physicians and to patient advocacy.
Justyna Sarna is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Calgary and medical director of the Calgary Movement Disorders Program. Her clinical practice focuses on the management of Parkinson’ s disease, with specific expertise in infusion therapies. Dr. Sarna is actively involved in clinical trials investigating novel therapeutics for Parkinson’ s disease and related disorders. She is also a passionate clinical educator, committed to training future neurologists in the field of movement disorders.
