5. What challenges does the manufacturing industry face today, and how are you addressing them?
We face a shortage of skilled workers, like many manufacturers. We address this by investing in training, partnering with initiatives like the Cool Jobs Tour, and providing employees with opportunities to build long-term careers in clean energy manufacturing.
6. How do you envision the future of careers in your industry?
The demand for solar energy is growing, and with it, so is Heliene. For young people entering the workforce, this means opportunities for advancement, skill development, and participation in an industry shaping a sustainable future.
7. What role do collaborations with schools, cities, and chambers of commerce play?
These partnerships show students and families what modern manufacturing looks like: innovative, hightech, and full of opportunity. They help students see that manufacturing is clean, advanced, and offers stable, well-paying jobs with room to grow. They also help parents and educators understand the variety of career paths available.
8. Can you share a
memorable interaction from the event?
I loved the panel discussion at the end of the tour. It showcased a genuine passion for manufacturing and gave attendees a chance to hear from educators, employees, and state-level partners.
9. What advice would you give to students considering a career in manufacturing?
Don’ t overlook manufacturing. If you enjoy seeing
the results of your work, solving problems, and being part of a team, it’ s a great option. You can start with little experience and gain skills on the job. Stay curious, show up, and take pride in your work.
10. What is the most rewarding aspect of working in your industry?
Our work builds a sustainable future and provides meaningful employment to the local community.
