COMMUNITY GUIDE 2025

A most Parktacular weekend
The annual community Parktacular takes place each year for a period ending on Father’ s Day. Some of the annual favorites include Rock the Park Concert, the Grand Day Parade, Business Expo, Ecotacular, Kidtacular, the Splash Into Summer Pool Event and other attractions.
The parade typically features Shriners’ boats and horses and a marching band as well as representatives from the Hopkins Raspberry Festival and other area celebrations.
Parktacular invites residents and visitors to“ Splash Into Summer.” For festival attendees who would like to literally make a splash, Parktacular provides a fishing clinic and a night at the St. Louis Park Aquatic Park. The Ecotacular is a showcase of environmentally friendly activities and demonstrations. Food vendors appear at Wolfe Park, along with community organization booths, parade floats and a host of other icons of seasonal celebrations.
Events are planned for people of all ages.“ Kidtacular” activities like face-painting and balloon animals welcome children.
The 2025 theme was Fishing, which is fitting for one of Parktacular’ s most popular attractions, Tommy’ s School of Fishing. Sunfish splashed in and out and back into the Wolfe Park lake all weekend, surely well fed by the end of the evening. Kids were assisted by the namesake of the event, St. Louis Park resident“ Atomic Tommy.”
A sensory zone at the festival and a stretch of the parade was implemented the past few years in consideration of individuals who may become overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the sights and sounds of the event.
The St. Louis Park Parktacular Ambassador Coronation closes out the event. Parktacular organizes an ambassadors program annually.
The ambassadors include children, young adults and senior ambassadors who represent St. Louis Park in many Minnesota communities.
Planning for the festival takes place throughout the year. See parktacular. org for more details, to volunteer or to be a sponsor.
Parktacular is one of several community activities that happen each year. Performances for a summer concert series take place at Veterans’ Memorial Amphitheater at Wolfe Park, 3700 Monterey Drive. This year’ s guest was Lipstick-n-Dynamite, a group that rocked the park.
Outside of Parktacular, there are plenty of opportunities around the Park for free outdoor music. The Kids Summer Concert Series, the Rotary Club series and open mic nights at the amphitheater keep the area filled with music all summer long.
