Entering 2024, family law had been but a small component of DarrowEverett’ s overall work as a business-focused law firm, but that changed with the additions of Joanna Achille and Sarah Oster Kelly, who were part of a six-member family law group that joined the firm last August. These moves elevated DE into having the largest family law practice in Rhode Island.
Achille specializes in complex family court and fiduciary litigation, with legal representation in high-stakes, high-conflict family matters. She handles contentious custody disputes, offering extensive experience in interstate and international custody cases. Achille also negotiates and drafts pre / post-nuptial agreements. Known for her strategic approach, she combines legal acumen with empathy, ensuring clients feel heard, respected and supported through some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Oster Kelly focuses on trusts and estates, probate and fiduciary litigation, and family law. With over 10 years of experience, Sarah provides clients with thoughtful, comprehensive legal guidance. Among her specialties are tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families with varied and complex assets, blended families, beneficiaries with special needs, and clients experiencing life cycle transitions of all types, including divorce.
