“ Dor L’ Dor- Generation to Generation- rusk rus” Sara Bella, 1 year 11 months There is something sacred about a child’ s art- not made for praise or perfection, but for presence.
In Sara Bella’ s painting, there are no straight lines, only discovery. No boundaries- only beginnings.
And isn ' t that the essence of our story as Jews? We began again and again- after Egypt, after pogroms, after Auschwitz, after unmarked mass graves hidden in forests. Each time, we gathered what was left: our words, our children. We rebuilt from fragments.
Sometimes I wonder- what were the odds of us being here? 1 %? Probably even less. But we don’ t measure by odds. We measure by miracle.
This painting reminds me of a scattered family tree- wandering paths across continents and generations.
Sara Bella’ s hands, covered in paint, will one day light candles, hold books, build home, and- Baruch Hashem- hold her own child’ s hand.
To those who came before, to those who walk beside us, and to those still finding their way. To names nearly lost, to families bound by love and memory.
As my grandfather Samuel Amitin used to say: Verba volant, scripta manent( spoken words fly away, written words remain). Amit Goldman, EMBA To my beloved family
