RABBI BETH KRAMER-MAZER P’ nei Torah Faculty Award
AJR has been an important part of my life since 2010 when I began my studies as a rabbinical student. I remember taking a leap of faith at that time, and wondering if it was the right decision to undertake this enormous endeavor, with a busy family life and a fulfilling career as a Jewish educator already well underway. Throughout my years as a student, and later as a proud alumna working in the synagogue world as a Rabbi-Educator, I felt immensely indebted to AJR for the countless opportunities it afforded me. The depth of learning and richness of our unique community are gifts that I continue to treasure.
I joined the professional team of AJR in 2021, first as an adjunct instructor, and then in 2022 as a full time member of the administration. My sense of awe and gratitude for all that AJR is has deepened greatly during this professional chapter. Being a part of the AJR team is an enriching gift. I love serving as Dean of Admissions and Director of Placement, and it is an absolute joy to teach classes and spend time with our remarkable students. It is an honor to be immersed in the AJR community each day, working alongside and serving the needs of the most splendid and remarkable people one could ever imagine possible. I am most appreciative of this delightful honor, to receive the P’ nei Torah Faculty Award. I am
We at AJR are incredibly grateful to Rabbi Beth Kramer-Mazer for all she brings to the AJR community. Her delightful personality and her warm and caring demeanor make her a very approachable and popular presence at the school. Her students appreciate both her manner and the important content they learn from her. She invests herself so deeply in the professional successes of our students and alumni, working tirelessly as Director of Placement to make sure that each person has the right job for them, and that the shidduch between the student or alum and the community is just right. This investment has led to AJR students and alumni being hired in large and prestigious positions, while also having plenty of room for those who see their vision in serving smaller communities. As Dean of Admissions she spends time helping prospective students to imagine themselves at AJR, and smoothing out the process for them. AJR’ s rapid growth has made this position even more time-consuming than it was, but Beth’ s attention to detail, and strong organizational skills make it all work. Beth is a wonderful colleague, collaborative, caring, supportive, and dependable. We are so grateful to have her as part of our team, and are very proud and happy to present her with the P’ nei Torah Faculty Award.
extremely proud to be associated with AJR, and humbled to give back to this institution and the sacred community that has enriched my life so profoundly.
