It’ s a new day for the Westside Warriors. After going just 1-9 last season and winless in the 3-4A, the Warriors turned the page with the hiring of head coach Tyler Gahr, who brings a renewed focus on attention to detail and program-wide standards. His mission: transform Westside into a tough, disciplined team ready to compete week in and week out. The offense will run out of a power spread attack, with quarterback Aiden Turner and running back Ashton Pickering leading the charge. Up front, the Warriors boast serious size in Kai Cambron( 6’ 3”, 345 lbs), who will anchor the offensive line while also making his presence felt on defense. The Warriors’ 4-2-5 defense will rely on two-way playmakers like Turner, Pickering, and Cambron, while defensive stalwarts Anthony Goodwin, Kam Allen, and Key Cohen add grit and stability. If the defense can find consistency, the Warriors could surprise some opponents. The 3-4A is a gauntlet, with perennial contenders like Southside and Highland setting the pace. But with new coaches also at Trumann, Gosnell, and Blytheville, the Warriors have an opportunity to close the gap and claw their way back into playoff contention. The wins haven’ t been there the past three years— just four total victories— but under Coach Gahr’ s leadership, Westside believes this is the start of a turnaround. A hungry, reenergized Warriors squad is ready to set a new standard in 2025.

The Pocahontas Redskins know the road through the 3-4A conference is one of the toughest in Arkansas, but with an experienced nucleus returning, Head Coach Casey Chester believes his team has the pieces to be right in the championship hunt in 2025. After finishing 7-5 overall and 5-2 in league play last season, the Redskins return star power on both sides of the ball— and an identity built around toughness up front. The offense has balance in mind this fall, and it starts with a proven ground game. Running back Xayver Ballard was a breakout force last season, rushing for 987 yards and 9 touchdowns on 120 carries, and he’ ll run behind one of the best offensive lines in Class 4A. All-State anchor Carter Couch, who has started an incredible 35 career games, leads a veteran front that also features Evan Thompson. At quarterback, Spencer James brings game experience with six starts under his belt, and in the passing game, Pocahontas has explosive options in Brendyn Arnold( 31 catches, 470 yards, 2 TDs) and Mason Priest. Defensively, the Redskins will rely on their physical 4-4 base scheme, fueled by one of the strongest defensive fronts in the region. Couch, Thompson, Mason Burgess, and Jarrett Sweeney give Pocahontas size and power in the trenches. The linebacking corps is equally stout, featuring two tackling machines: Austin George( 126 stops, All-Conference) and Ryder Baltz( 125 tackles). In the secondary, Arnold and Priest return to give the Redskins a blend of athleticism and experience. The schedule provides early tests. Pocahontas opens the season against defending 3A state champion Salem, followed by the grind of 3-4A play. The conference slate begins with a clash against reigning league champ Southside, and it ends with a rivalry showdown against Highland— two matchups that will be critical to where the Redskins land in the standings. Chester knows the team’ s biggest challenge is developing depth behind the front-line talent, but with proven stars like Ballard, Couch, George, Baltz, and Arnold, this is a squad with the ability to make noise. With an explosive run game, a powerful defensive front, and playmakers across the field, Pocahontas is a dangerous dark horse in the loaded 3-4A conference race.
