Stone ’ s Throw Golf Course is nestled along the scenic Rum River just north of Milaca at 15679 Central Ave . The greens are the pride of the regional golf community , part of a course that is open to the public and owned by its members . Decisions about the course are made by golfers for golfers .
The Milaca golf course itself is a gem , challenging the serious golfer with a thought-provoking layout while at the same time relaxing the casual player with its wonderful , scenic beauty . Two holes are adjacent to the Rum River . Six holes intertwine O ’ Neill Brook and ponds come into play on some other holes .
With many improvements made through the years of its existence , Stone ’ s Throw has matured beautifully , each hole developing its own distinct character and technical challenges . The course is a par 70 , the distance ranges from 4,740 yards to 6,103 depending on which tees a golfer selects , and it has a rating of 70.2 Slope 126 .
