CITY OF FORESTON
Foreston gets its name from the hardwood forest that partially surrounds it . The small city sits about three miles west of Milaca within Milo Township and was incorporated as a village on May 9 , 1889 . As of the 2020 Census , Foreston is home to 559 residents .
The lumber industry spurred creation of a community on the west branch of the Rum River , originally named Bridgman after its founder and postmaster , Coleman Bridgeman . The name was changed to Foreston when it became an incorporated city . Each year , the town hosts Foreston Fun Days in July , which includes a parade , music , food , dance , games and revelry .
