Wayzata Design District: Shop’ til you drop
Wayzata’ s Lake Street has been known to be a shopping hub, filled with an array of storefronts providing home decor, furniture, gifts, design services and more.
In 2024, the creative store owners behind it united to create the Wayzata Design District in order to celebrate local businesses, create a welcoming destination for all those who love design, and inspire creativity throughout the community.
Starting with the Design District Sip & Shop, the storefronts including Brick & Linen, Fox & Willow, Five Swans, Grace Hill Design, Henri Home, Highcroft, Historic Studio, Julia Moss Design, Lucy Interior Designs, and Timber & Tulip provided drinks and treats, giveaways, trunk shows and visits with artists for all who stepped through their doors in 2024.
Discovering products such as China and everyday dishes from Five Swans, linens and accessories from Fox and Willow, hand-designed furniture and lamps from Timber and
Tulip and much more, attendees of the event shopped till they dropped as they enjoyed drinks, views of the lake, and the summer heat. The Wayzata Design District is bringing back the event at the height of summer on Aug. 9, 2025.
Just in time for holiday shopping, the Design District will also provide deals and giveaways during its Holiday Market event, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2024. Last year’ s event provided the community with the opportunity to check off a few items on their holiday gift list. Each store participated in providing a specially curated gift from their design line for the holiday giveaway.
Instead of running around the Twin Cities area with hopes of finding the perfect home design products, the Design District hopes to offer a one-stop destination for all of the community’ s design needs.
