Established in 1999 , Elmhurst Commons occupies the former Braham Middle School and offers a 36-unit housing complex for Assisted Living seniors age 55 and older , having established a reputation for quality care . Each apartment includes a full kitchen with stove and refrigerator , living space , bedroom and bathroom .
Residents enjoy a variety of daily activities and amenities such as onsite Library , Beauty / Barber Shop , daily snack / coffee time , holiday parties , bake sale , indoor / outdoor games , Bingo , Exercise , Crafts and more ! Large dining room available for events .
Utilities included in rent are : 73 + Channel Cable package , Electric , Heating & A / C , City Sewer & Water , Alert Pendant and 24 / 7 awake staff to assist as well as 24 / 7 on-call nursing staff . Each resident has their own personalized service plan having as much or as little help as needed . Weekly Housekeeping and laundry including bed turn down service are also included in rent . Residents may also enjoy quality home cooked meal package including daily hot breakfast , lunch and supper .
Elmhurst primarily serves seniors from the surrounding area , including Kanabec , Pine , Chisago and Isanti counties . The company employs 30 people who continue to pride themselves on providing a homey atmosphere , quality food and personal care for each resident .

CAMBRIDGE ACT ON ALZHEIMER ’ S
The Cambridge ACT on Alzheimer ’ s group was formed in 2013 with the help of representatives from the Central Minnesota Council on Aging . This group has continued to provide education , information and social connections for the community . The goal of Cambridge ACT is to make the community more dementia-friendly .
