From the Desk of the Vice President f Enrollment , Engagement and Services
Our student panelists had simple , yet profound advice about how we can continue to predict needs and provide what is needed :
Dear SEES Team ,
As we progress through the spring semester , I am reminded of the incredible talent , dedication , and shared purpose that define our division . Each of you brings unique contributions that strengthen our collective mission , and I am deeply grateful for your commitment to student success , innovation , and excellence .
When we gathered in December for State of the Student , we heard directly from our students about their experiences , challenges , and aspirations . Their insights reminded me of the transformative power of truly listening . Every story they shared highlighted the importance of being present , showing up for students , and influencing their journeys with intention – some of us even earned “ Auntie ” status .
• Remind students that their goals are achievable .
• Remind them that university is not their entire life ; help them see the bigger picture .
• Remind them to take breaks and prioritize their well-being .
• And remind them of why they started this journey because that will also be why they finish .
These small actions , and embodying our care and service commitments , create a lasting impact and demonstrate our collective commitment to fostering an environment where students can belong and thrive .
Reflecting on fall semester , I am proud of what we accomplished together . From navigating the landscape of enrollment , especially FAFSA challenges , and launching Your Monarch Moment , a fresh take on our welcome experiences , to the introduction of the Red Folder campaign and continued progress from the Well-Being Collective , our efforts are leaving a lasting mark . The growing energy across campus — evident in record-breaking career fair attendance and rising Fraternity & Sorority membership —
