A Resolution Approving NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2026
• The board approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Operating and Capital Budget.
A Resolution Appointing Trustee to Fill NANA Elders’ Settlement Trust Seat E
• The board appointed Johnetta Horner to fill Seat E to serve the remainder of Seat E which ends April 2028. The corresponding terms are as follows:

A Resolution Authorizing Staff to Negotiate and Close an Amendment to and Extension of the $ 300 Million Revolving Credit Facility
• The board approved and authorized staff to negotiate and close an amendment to and extension of the $ 300 million revolving credit facility to receive more favorable terms.
A Resolution Approving Deering VEI Funding for Water Distribution and Sewer Expansion Project
• The board approved the Native Village of Deering supported by the City of Deering request of $ 1,500,000.00 for funding the water distribution and sewer expansion project.
A Resolution Approving Kotzebue VEI Funding for the Solar Array Project
• The board approved the Native Village of Kotzebue supported by the City of Kotzebue request of $ 200,000.00 for funding the solar array project.
A Resolution Approving Kotzebue VEI Funding for the Nikaitchuat Iḷsaġviat and Tribal Administrative Facility Project
• The board approved the Native Village of Kotzebue supported by the City of Kotzebue request of $ 300,000.00 for funding the Nikaitchuat Iḷsaġviat and Tribal Administrative Facility Project.
A Resolution Approving Kotzebue VEI Funding for the Nikaitchuat Iḷsaġviat Support Project
• The board approved the Native Village of Kotzebue supported by the City of Kotzebue request of $ 61,896.00 for funding the Nikaitchuat Iḷsaġviat Support Project.
A Resolution Approving Selawik VEI Funding for the Water and Sewer Necessary Equipment Project
• The board approved the City of Selawik supported by the Native Village of Selawik request of $ 246,612.33 for funding the water and sewer necessary equipment project.
A Resolution Amending NANA’ s Code of Business Ethics
• The Ethics and Rules Committee worked with Chief Legal Officer to amend the Code of Business Ethics to add language to the Conflict of Interest clarifying that Board Members do not have a conflict of interest on Red Dog matters solely based on a relative working at Red Dog Mine.
A Resolution Amending NANA’ s Corporate Travel Policy
• The Ethics and Rules Committee worked with Chief Legal Officer to amend the Corporate Travel Policy to specify when the Board Chair and President / CEO may travel together.
A Resolution Appointing Aqqaluk Trust Trustees – Seats C & D
• The board appointed Verna Westlake to fill Seat C and Lee Staheli to fill Seat D, whose terms end November 30, 2028. The corresponding terms are as follows:

Sam Hill is NANA’ s new vice president of shareholder relations.

Welcoming Sam Hill as vice president of shareholder relations

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sam Hill as the new vice president of shareholder relations. Sam will succeed Sandy Kowalski, who is retiring after years of dedicated service to NANA and our shareholders.

Sam is a proud NANA shareholder who grew up in Kotzebue and is looking forward to returning home to Northwest Alaska. His parents are Jackie and the late Joe Hill from Kotzebue and Kiana. Sam’ s strong connection to our community is complemented by his educational achievements, holding dual Bachelor of Science degrees in exercise and movement sciences and environmental sciences from the University of Oregon.
Sam brings over two decades of experience working with Alaska Native corporations. He has held leadership roles overseeing human resources, shareholder relations, as well as health, safety, and environmental programs. Most recently, Sam led a team of more than 150 HR professionals, where he advanced key initiatives in workforce development, shareholder employment, compensation, and employee well-being.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Sam. We are confident his experience and commitment will be a great asset to NANA.
We also want to express our sincere gratitude to Sandy Kowalski for her exceptional leadership and dedication throughout her years of service. We wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.
