Impact Fitness Makes an Impression by Supporting Local Charity Organizations

At Impact Fitness, the mission is to

“ impact someone today.” The franchise group stayed true to this mission during its Annual Leadership Retreat at Boyne Mountain in July, in which the group supported Room 156 at Boyne City Middle School. Room 156 is an in-school pantry sponsored by the Manna Food Project in Michigan that provides essential items like food, hygiene products, clothing and winter gear for students in need.
During the leadership retreat, Impact Fitness staff teamed up to package 200 hygiene kits filled with necessary items. The kits included deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, razors and combs. They also included fun, motivational stickers to make the kids’ day a little brighter. Additionally, they wrote 120 motivational cards for the students with positive messages to lift the kids’ spirits. They also decorated boxes containing 13 pairs

of name-brand shoes with glitter pens, stickers and gems, turning the simple boxes into personalized gifts for the kids. The staff had a friendly competition to see who could create the most appealing kits, which helped encourage the staff to create the best possible packages for the students at Boyne City Middle School.
“ Seeing the enthusiasm from everyone involved reminded me why I love being part of this team,” said Alicia Calcamuggio,
VP of human resources for Impact Fitness.
In addition, Impact’ s support team spent one day this summer volunteering at Gleaners Food Bank in southeastern Michigan. The group was able to make a huge impact, as it helped pack 17,000 pounds of food. This is equivalent to 13,600 meals for those in need. Both initiatives highlighted how hard Impact Fitness works to make a positive impact on its local communities. G member news

Gym Management Services Helps Sharpen Success with School Supply Drives

Gym Management Services ensured the kids in its local communities had the supplies they needed for the new school year with school supply drives held over the summer.

Back-to-school season can be stressful for families who are already managing a tight budget. With the new school year in full swing, Gym Management Services wanted to ensure that every student had the tools they need to succeed by hosting two different school supply drives.

Throughout the month of July, GMS collected donations of school supplies in its clubs in California, Oregon and Washington. Members were encouraged to donate backpacks and school supplies for kids in need. These donations were given to the local Boys & Girls Clubs and school districts.
Gym Management Services also had a community backpack drive in Anchorage, Alaska, where it collected over 720 backpacks stuffed with school supplies. The backpacks were filled with necessary items that kids may need for school, such as pencils, pens, folders, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, paper, hand sanitizer, tissues and reusable water bottles. After the donation period was over, GMS opened its doors to the community and gave away the backpacks to kids in need throughout Anchorage. As a group, it was able to donate over 1,300 stuffed backpacks to local Boys
& Girls Clubs, school districts and families in need. Managers and regional managers got to meet with the kids when they dropped off the donations, and the kids could barely contain their excitement about the new backpacks.
“ It was so nice seeing the reactions of the kids and the coordinators. All of them were very grateful and excited. I could tell one of the coordinators was holding back tears, and that’ s when I knew we were really making a difference,” said Richard Padilla, regional manager at Gym Management Services. G
