FACILITY GRADUATIONS
Seventeen students recently graduated from the Prison Fellowship Academy at Ware SP. This program includes over 500 hours of instruction and focuses on a faith-based approach to citizenship. Notably, Ware SP has become the first prison in Georgia to implement such an initiative, demonstrating a commitment to promoting personal development and reintegration for individuals.
In 2016, the General Equivalency Diploma( GED) was updated to align with high school diploma standards, raising the bar for those pursuing this important credential. Since that time, the Georgia Department of Corrections has proudly assisted 18,000 offenders in earning their GEDs— a remarkable achievement that represents far more than a personal milestone. Each diploma earned is a symbol of hope, perseverance, and the potential for a brighter future. It opens doors to new opportunities and serves as a powerful reminder that, even in the face of adversity, meaningful change and growth are possible.
