In 2022, Chisago Lakes resident Robert Ferrier established Here 2 Heal as a micro greens company for the high end restaurant business. In 2024, his cousin Jared Swanson came on board, and together, the two thought the business should transition to a cannabis business as Minnesota started passing legislation to allow for recreational marijuana.
Swanson, a Forest Lake native, had worked at Applebee’ s for 15 years, a portion of which as the general manager. He shared that he had intended to continue working his way up through the company. Then he had a daughter.
Swanson said,“ It takes a lot to run a successful restaurant and a lot to
Tolzmann Painting Interior and Exterior Quality you can trust, a family tradition for 4 generations, and over 100 years have a successful family.”
Soon he was leaving Applebee’ s to run Here 2 Heal with Ferrier. He took the experience of running a successful restaurant and applied it to his new venture.
But the wait as the cannabis industry is developed at the state level was taking a long time. While the cousin business duo received their social equity license to start the business, a lawsuit at the state level held up the version of the license they had applied for and received to do business. While the two are hoping to begin preparing product to sell by this summer, they decided to pursue helping growers with their supply needs.
“ With things taking so long, there has been a huge supply [ demand ] for home-growers,” he said.
Here 2 Heal now offers supplies to cannabis home-growers, and other CBD items and low dose edibles and drinks.
Swanson said he predicts,“ in the next 2 years [ cannabis ] will blow up, then plateau.”
He wants to create a brand“ that supports people and is a trusted, reliable source,” that people trust to be safe.
“ We are trying to help eliminate the uncertainty and unsafety, the only way to get out of it is through education, compliance and community outreach,” Swanson said.
