EDINA
COMMUNITY GUIDE 2025
Welcome to Edina!
Edina is a wonderful place to both visit as a destination and as a place to call home. Ours is a community well known for its beautiful neighborhoods, superb parks, recreational opportunities, premier retail shopping and excellent dining.
Our residents also have access to one of the finest school districts in the country. The Edina Public Schools system, renowned nationwide for its excellence, serves most of the geography within our city limits. The northwestern portion of the community is served by the Hopkins School District and part of the southeastern area is served by the Richfield School District.
Both the City and Edina Public Schools offer year-round programming for youth and adults. Edina’ s Parks & Recreation Department offers youth programs and camps, adaptive recreation, art programs, family events and adult activities and sports. Through Edina Community Education, the school district has classes in fitness, food, languages and technology, to name just a few of their numerous educational offerings.
With more than 40 community parks, our city boasts one of the most expansive park systems in the area. Our recreational amenities include Braemar Arena & Field, Braemar Golf Course, Centennial Lakes Park, Edina Aquatic Center, Edinborough Park, the Nine Mile Creek regional trail system and many walking and biking trails connecting to the regional bicycle system.
We have a thriving and charming downtown at 50th & France with free district parking, great boutiques and restaurants and the Edina Theatre. Our two regional malls at Southdale Center and Galleria on France Avenue host the finest retail shopping in the state. From Town Hall Station and Patisserie Margo at Valley View and Wooddale to The
Hilltop in the Grandview District to Cahill Bistro in the Cahill District, many excellent restaurants and unique boutiques can also be found in our community’ s neighborhood commercial nodes.
Edina is also highly advantaged as it is a city of medical excellence with state-of-the-art regional M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital anchoring a large medical community in the Southdale District. Many medical providers on France Avenue and in other parts of the district offer an array of outstanding medical services to our residents and visitors.
Though focused on the future, the Edina community is proud of its heritage. Today, more than 10 properties are Edina Heritage Landmarks: Baird House, Browndale Bridge, Cahill School, Edina Country Club District, Edina Mills site, Grange Hall, Grimes House, Hendrick and Marri Oskam House, Paul Peterson House, the Wooddale Avenue Bridge and, of course, our beloved Edina Theatre sign.
Edina is a community that appreciates art, too. Discover beautiful sculptures and other pieces of public art at Centennial Lakes Park, Edina City Hall, Edina Promenade, Grandview Square Park and 50th & France.
Whether you live in, work in or are just visiting Edina, the Edina Community Guide will serve you well. In the guide, you will find more detailed information on some of the things I’ ve mentioned here, as well as the organizations behind them. For all Edina has to offer, our residents seem to love more than ever the life in this community we share together – and we hope you will feel the same way, too.
Enjoy your time in Edina!
