A legacy of educational excellence

Edina Public Schools has a long tradition of defining educational excellence and preparing students for lifelong achievement and learning. Through the Early Learning Center, six elementary schools, two middle schools, and a college preparatory high school, Edina Public Schools is home to approximately 9,000 students.
The District continues to expand its academic opportunities for students. At the elementary level, programming is offered in a Spanish Dual Language Immersion program, launched in fall 2022; French Immersion, and multi-age learning through the Continuous Progress program. Countryside Elementary School was honored with a National Blue Ribbon award in 2023, the highest school distinction possible. Middle School students study at Valley View Middle School and South View Middle School. South View is one of only eleven middle schools from across the country recognized by the Association of Middle Level Education( AMLE). South View has been a Special Olympics Unified Champion school for over ten years for its inclusive Unified programming.
The Edina Public Schools experience culminates at Edina High School. Recognized as one of the top college preparatory high schools in the state, each year, graduates go on to attend Ivy League colleges
Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth College, and locally competitive schools such as Carleton College, the University of St. Thomas and of course, the University of Minnesota. Nationally known for its athletic programs, Edina High School holds a record 207 state championship titles, more than any of the other 500 members of the Minnesota State High School League. In addition to athletics, students have the special opportunity to earn a varsity letter in community service. Each year, students are offered extensive international learning experiences in countries such as Nepal, Portugal, and Zimbabwe through travel-based learning opportunities, and the Edina Rotary Global Scholars, an exclusive partnership with Edina High School. A wide range of award-winning Music, Arts, and interest-based activities round out the offering at the high school.
The District is an integral part of the Edina community, which has shown the District generous support. In Spring 2022, Edina voters renewed an annual $ 7 million technology levy and $ 7 million bond issue. Through generous funding, community donations, and active engagement, Edina residents demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to educational excellence that directly translates into exceptional learning options, innovative programming, and maintaining the district’ s reputation for achievement.
