EDINA

COMMUNITY GUIDE 2025

Foundation evolving to meet the need

The Edina Community Foundation strives to make Edina a better place for all who work, live, worship, study or serve in Edina since 1977. Edina Community Foundation accomplishes this by being an incubator for local charities and running relevant programs that evolve to meet the current needs of Edina.
Over 100 charities have started in the ECF nest such as Bluebirds and Blooms, Minnesota Wild Deaf and Hard of Hearing Hockey and Minnesota Wild Blind Hockey and Edina Give and Go.
It is the Edina Community Foundation’ s passion to provide support to others so they can make the community and those in need a better place.
At the annual Connecting with Kids Awards, ECF gives grants and recognizes both youth and adults who uplift children. One of the special honorees this year was Edina High School senior Anoushka Jha. Anoushka started Shakti International with Aditi Jha and Indra Khariwala, a charity that provides hygiene products, education and support to women and girls in underserved areas, such as India. ECF is proud to be an incubator for Shakti as a“ back of the house” sponsor so Anoushka can focus on expanding her important mission.
The Edina Community Foundation also operates relevant programs that provide support to those in need. The ECF Connect Card provides youth that would qualify for federal reduced or free lunch access to Edina Community programs and sports. It is ECF’ s goal to make sure all families have an equal opportunity to participate with dignity. Over 500 families have benefited from ECF’ s connect card.
ECF is Edina’ s hometown nonprofit. It is operated by two part time employees, Alison Briggs, executive director, and Siena Shull, community impact leader. ECF’ s dynamic and dedicated board is led by Paul Mooty.
