Community Center open to all
The Eden Prairie Community Center is a public facility open to walk-in participants as well as monthly or annual members. Whether someone is looking for a space for meetings, parties, exercising, swimming, skating, or a broader catalog of programs and events, the Eden Prairie Community Center has it all.
Some of the facility highlights include the Aquatics Center, which houses two eight-lane 25-yard lap pools with two diving boards, a climbing wall, a zero-depth-entry recreational pool, a hot tub and a water slide. There are a variety of open lap swimming, lap swimming or tot opening swimming opportunities available, as well as time for just recreation.
The Emerson Process Management Fitness Center totes topof-the-line cardio equipment, resistance training machines and free weights, suitable for any level of fitness. Those looking for group support during their workouts can find a selection of more than 220 classes each week, including Zumba, Barre, BodyPump, aquatics, yoga, Pilates, interval and more.
Skating time is a large part of the center’ s offerings with its three indoor, regulation-size ice rinks. The rinks are open for regularly scheduled open skate, developmental skate, lessons and clinics throughout the year. The Community Center also serves as the home of the Eden Prairie Hockey Association and the Eden Prairie Figure Skating Club. Residents of all ages can enjoy the facility’ s open Wells Fargo gymnasium and its many offerings. Featured opportunities include pickup and league basketball, pickleball and two regulation volleyball courts for volleyball. The gymnasium also offers two full-sized racquetball courts.
The Prairie Play Zone is a great space for young residents to stretch their legs and get activities. Children can enjoy an indoor adventure of sliding, climbing and crawling in the Community Center’ s indoor play structure. For the community’ s youngest residents, there is also a special area for infants to explore in a safe, staff-monitored zone.
As a new way for community members to exercise and promote rescue pet adoption, the community center welcomed a number of fluffy bunnies into the gym for a bit of bunny yoga in October 2024. Plans for kitty and puppy yoga are in the works for community members to enjoy.
