Lakes, trails, open space and more

The city of Eagan has 60 parks and other Parks and Recreation amenities include the Eagan Community Center, Cascade Bay Waterpark, Eagan Ice Arena and Eagan Art House. There are 161 miles of biking and walking trails and the city is home to many unpaved walking paths.
The Community Center and Eagan Festival Grounds are at Central Park, 1501 Central Parkway. The Community Center includes a fitness center, teen center, Senior Center, banquet room, The Blast children’ s play area, and Eagan Convention and Visitors Bureau office.
The Festival Grounds includes a band shell, which hosts many concerts and events throughout the year, and sprawling green space to host Eagan’ s July 4th Funfest, the Eagan Art Festival and more. Cascade Bay and Eagan Ice Arena have entries in this guide under Attractions.
Other features of the park system, include Trapp Farm Park, 841 Wilderness Run Road. The park has a pavilion, shelter building with fireplace, amphitheater, fishing dock and canoe launch. It also is the site of the Tubing Hill, which charges a $ 5 admission fee for those 42 inches and taller and requires pre-registration for 2-hour blocks at cityofeagan. com / tubing-hill.
For those looking to keep their winter groove going, there is a winter skating trail is at Rahn Park, 4425 Sandstone Drive, along with a hockey rink. Hockey and pleasure rinks are at a variety of other parks as well.
For a summertime diversion, there are canoe launches and racks and fishing docks at Blackhawk Park, 1629 Murphy Parkway; Fish Lake Park, 3699 Denmark Ave.; Heine Pond Park, 4245 Diffley Road; and Thomas Lake Park, 4425 Pilot Knob Road.
Canoe launches are at Moonshine Park, 1317 Jurdy Road, and O’ Leary Park, 3501 Lexington Ave. A fishing dock is also located at Carlson Lake Park, 1303 Carlson Lake Lane.
The Lexington Diffley Athletic Fields, 4201 Lexington Ave., is a mecca for all things sports. The site includes soccer fields, adult softball fields, skate park and BMX track.
Patrick Eagan Park, 3981 Lexington Ave., features the Eagan Art House, which hosts a wide range of classes and events. It had a grand opening for the new facility in spring 2025. More is at 651-675-5524 or cityofeagan. com / eaganart-house.
The Eagan Central Park Splash Pad, 1501 Central Parkway, is free to the public and includes multiple ground spraying features as well as overhead fountains and buckets. Open daily from 9 a. m. to 8 p. m. typically starting in May and through the summer.
One of the newest additions to the park system is an All Inclusive Playground at Woodhaven Park, 1950 Gold Trail.
