Dakota County is home to several more attractions that draw residents from throughout the county and the Twin Cities. Among those sites are these locations.
Ames Center— Located at 12600 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville. It has a 1,000-seat proscenium stage theater and an intimate, 150-seat black box theater. There is additional space for banquets, special events and receptions. More information is at 952-895-4685 or www. ames-center. com.
Buck Hill- 15400 Buck Hill Road, just west of I-35W, Buck Hill Ski Area offers skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, as well as summer bicycle racing and disc golf. Dakota City Heritage Village – Offers visitors the chance to experience rural life in 1900-era Dakota County. A recreated historic village and museum, Dakota City’ s five-acre site includes 22 buildings. The village and museum are

Dakota Curling – Dakota Curling Holyoke Plaza, 20775 Holt Ave., in Lakeville features multiple sheets for curling, a warm room, a bar and restaurant, and viewing from three sides of the ice sheet, including an elevated mezzanine level for second story observation by coaches and officials. Elko Speedway – A NASCAR-sanctioned racetrack, with a steeply banked paved 3 / 8-mile oval also has a bar and restaurant featuring live music, bingo, and post-race parties. Minnesota Zoo – The zoo is home to more than 2,700 animals such as Grizzly bears, coyotes, lemurs, leopards, tigers, and various birds species.
