Training Grounded in Purpose and Practice

At the heart of DCS training is a commitment to Person-Centered Supervision— an approach grounded in communication, accountability, and individualized support. These principles guide how employees at every level engage their work, reinforcing empathy, purpose, and responsibility. By embedding this philosophy across training and development, DCS is strengthening a workforce that balances accountability with compassion and authority with understanding.

Leading with Purpose: Developing DCS Leaders

In FY25, DCS advanced this commitment through the launch of its first Leadership Development Training, held in Savannah, Georgia. The three-day event brought together leaders from across the state to align around the agency’ s vision, strengthen leadership capacity, and engage in strategic dialogue focused on the future of community supervision.

Sessions emphasized clarity of leadership, organizational influence, resilience, and long-term readiness. Leaders explored emerging best practices, shared perspectives, and strengthened statewide relationships— reinforcing a shared responsibility for guiding DCS into its next decade of service. The training reflects the Department’ s continued investment in developing leaders who lead with intention, consistency, and a people-centered approach.

Training at DCS is about building a culture where learning drives performance, leadership, and well-being. Every innovation reflects our commitment to helping our people grow and succeed.
