The Impact of the North Carolina Holocaust Foundation

( Continued from page 36)
North Carolina’ s moral leadership by promoting principled responses to antisemitism and hate crimes.
• House Resolution 1013: Adopted by the North Carolina House, this resolution urged the U. S. Congress to take decisive action in support of Jewish Americans, criminalize antisemitic hate crimes, and respond to unprovoked attacks on Jewish communities globally.
The Foundation also supports music, art, and literature projects that explore Holocaust memory and broaden public engagement with this history.
Long-Term Impact: Building a Better Future
The Foundation’ s greatest value lies in the lasting influence its work has on North Carolina’ s social fabric. Through Holocaust remembrance and education, the organization achieves the following goals:
• Promotes democratic values by affirming the importance of democracy, the rule of law, and moral responsibility, and by reminding us that silence in the face of hate is dangerous.
• Inspires civic engagement, motivating participants to take active roles in their communities, often drawing inspiration from stories of resistance and moral courage.
• Prepares students for a diverse future, fostering respect for differences and readiness to participate in a multicultural society.
The North Carolina Holocaust Foundation is an indispensable partner to the NC Council on the Holocaust and a valuable asset to the entire state. Its mission extends far beyond history lessons— bringing memory, justice, and hope to every corner of North Carolina. By supporting education, fostering understanding, and inspiring action, the Foundation ensures the past is never forgotten and that the future is shaped by compassion and vigilance.
