Vinnie Rose, a Twin Cities guitarist and vocalist, will perform starting at 10:30 a. m.
Rose is known for his penchant of looping guitar parts to offer a layered performance despite being a one-man band.
He covers the likes of Buddy Holly, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffet, Keith Urban and more. In addition, his shows regularly feature his large repertoire of original compositions.

The Freedom Days Parade will break out the red, white and blue on floats, banners, flags, decorated bikes, and in participants and spectators’ attire.
Among the entrants to cheer on during the 1 p. m. parade are bands from both Eastview and Apple Valley high schools, along with a host of other school groups and sporting organizations.

The parade will continue to follow its traditional route from the south side of County Road 42 at Fireside Lane and Pennock Avenue all the way to Apple Valley High School.
A map of the parade route appears in this edition. On the day of the event, people should be patient driving around as traffic will be heavy around the intersection of County Road 42 and Cedar Avenue, already one of the busiest places in the south metro.
People should also be cognizant of a city ordinance that bans space saving along the route until 9 a. m. July 3. Due to the long parade route, there’ s always a great place to view the parade even without the extra effort.
For those looking for a parade wind up or wind out, there’ s a place for you.
The Freedom Days Fun Run kicks off at 8 a. m. at a new location Johnny Cake Ridge Park, 14225 Johnny Cake Ridge Road.
The event includes a 2-mile and 5-mile run.
People can register 6:30 – 7:30 a. m. on the day of the event, but they are asked to go online to sign up to save on the registration fee, and no T-shirt will be included as the deadline for that has

While there won’ t be a carnival this year, people are encouraged to go to Johnny Cake Ridge Park East, 5800 140th St. W., on the Fourth of July starting at 3 p. m. when food trucks will be ready to serve. The parks offers several amenities for a picnic and playing.
The Pre-Fireworks Party rolls from 6-10 p. m., Johnny Cake Ridge Park East.
There will be music by Woody, dancing, games, and food, or one can stake out a place to plant a lawn chair and wait for the fireworks show at 9:30 p. m. This is a new start time, so be there early for the fun.
There is a designated handicap parking area on the east side of Johnny Cake Ridge Road. Look for the signs to direct cars to the location. The parking area will also be open on July 3 for Cub Foods Family Fun Night.
Family Fun Night will include Knockerballs and inflatables for a fee provided by Knockerball of St. Paul.
There will be a petting zoo, pony rides( both cost $ 5 per child), chalk art, face painting, food trucks, a vendor fair, kids dance, and vehicles from Apple Valley police, fire and public works.

Knockerball will be one of the activities on tap during Cub Food Family Fun Night at Johnny Cake Ridge Park East on July 3. a. m.– 1 p. m., Saturday, June 28, during the Root Beer Float Event at the Apple Valley Senior Center, 14601 Hayes Road. The event is hosted by Apple Valley Seniors and will include a K-9 demonstration.
In recent years, the Apple Valley Police Department’ s Casting with the Cops has grown to become a highlight of the summer for may local children.
The event will be 5:30-7:30 p. m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Cobblestone Lake Fishing Pier.
